Pratchett died at his home near Salisbury on 12 March 2015 from a severe chest infection with final complications from his Alzheimers, according to his publisher. The Telegraph reported that his death had been natural and not linked to his support for assisted suicide. Tweets from his account written by his daughter Rhianna just after his death included one saying "Terry took Death’s arm and followed him through the doors and on to the black desert under the endless night." and a quote of the character "Death" as saying "AT LAST SIR TERRY, WE MUST WALK TOGETHER." Last activity of his account was a simple tweet that read: "The End."
